Family News From Christy: August 2011 I realize that it has been quite a few months since my last post. I would like to apologize for that. We have been busy, both I at work and my parents traveling. As most of you know by now, they are back in Brazil, the land of their calling. The doctor released dad for a short visit. They returned with the plans of being back in the States for the last few months of the year for the doctors to run test and see how and if dad's condition has improved by being in Brazil. I personally believe that he will have some improvement. There is a peace, contentment in both of their voices that only comes from being in the perfect will of God for one's life. "THANK YOU" to our home church who gave a special offering to help get them on their way. Since they have arrived back in Brazil, they are making plans that these trips will be "permanent". Thus, they have started to set up housekeeping. If you will remember, the original diagnosis was not good, and not knowing how long the treatment and doctor's supervision would last, they sold all of their belongings. The Lord willing, as time passes, they will replentish the borrowed furniture in the house house with furnishings of their own. We are so thankful for the churches down there and the people who make them up. They have learned well "to take care of the Man of God" (and his family). They have not only opened their hearts once again to mom and dad, but have gone above and beyond to make sure they have everything they need to "start over", so to speak. Please continue to pray for dad's health. I know being where you belong helps, but at the same time, he still needs to be careful and rest to ensure his heart is healing properly. I know he is loving every service, meeting and as of last night (August 1st), ever class he is teaching. (Yes, he's already teaching in the Bible institute down there. Their schedule is a little different, so it will allow him to teach a full course in the short time he is there.) They can be reached on the Vontage phone (864) 248-4007 or via email: cathysmithbrazil@yahoo.com. Additional contact information is on the contact page. Thank you for your continued support to our family. We desire to be used of the Lord this year more than ever. We continue as always...
